Students will develop and rehearse two contrasting monologues that showcase their unique strengths as actors. In addition to prepared pieces, students will engage in cold readings and scene work with sides provided in class. The course offers hands-on experience with solo auditions, auditions with a reader, and callback scenarios, giving students a realistic sense of the professional audition environment. Emphasis is also placed on the social and professional etiquette of auditions, helping actors present themselves with confidence both in and out of the audition room. Each student will gain valuable perspective by spending time on both sides of the table—auditioning and observing.
