Development I Division: The Jungle Book KIDS

In the Development Division, beginner to intermediate campers are challenged to deepen their understanding of the craft through engaging classes and the production of a 30-minute scripted musical. More advanced classes cover a range of skills, including improvisation, acting techniques, audition coaching, vocal training, dance, stage movement, and on-camera techniques. This year, campers will showcase their talents on our historic mainstage.

We welcome students of all abilities, including those with disabilities and children who are developmentally typical.

Students interested in the Development Division must audition for admittance. Auditions will take place on May 11 and 13, with detailed information provided closer to that date.

Camp Walnut is a Monday-Thursday camp.

Camp Walnut concludes for all students on July 30, 2026. Campers in the Development Division will have their public performance on August 1, 2026.

Public Performance: August 1 at 10:00AM

Payment plan available: $500 deposit plus 1 payment of $1,000.00, paid weekly.

Development II Division: Shrek The Musical KIDS

The Discovery Division invites beginning students to uncover their hidden talents, enhance their communication skills, and spark their creativity. Through engaging theatre games and activities, campers will dive into improvisation, vocal technique, playwriting, dance, and on-camera skills. The experience culminates in our Camp Walnut Showcase on our historic stage, featuring an original musical created entirely by the campers based on PETER PAN by J. M. Barrie! Join us for a transformative journey filled with fun and artistic growth! We welcome students of all abilities, including those with disabilities and children who are developmentally typical.

Students interested in the Discovery Division do not need to audition for admittance and are accepted on a first-come first-served basis.

Camp Walnut is a Monday-Thursday camp.

The Discovery Division invites beginning students to uncover their hidden talents, enhance their communication skills, and spark their creativity. Through engaging theatre games and activities, campers will dive into improvisation, vocal technique, playwriting, dance, and on-camera skills. The experience culminates in our Camp Walnut Showcase on our historic stage, featuring an original musical created entirely by the campers based on the story ALICE IN WONDERLAND by Lewis Carroll! Join us for a transformative journey filled with fun and artistic growth! We welcome students of all abilities, including those with disabilities and children who are developmentally typical.

The Performance Division is designed for our most experienced campers and is ideal for those aspiring to become professionals in the performing arts. Participants will receive intensive instruction and the opportunity to perform in a fully produced show at Walnut’s Studio Theatre, directed by industry professionals.

We welcome students of all abilities, including those with disabilities and children who are developmentally typical.

Students interested in the Performance Division must audition for admittance. Auditions will take place the week of May 11 & 13, with detailed information provided closer to that date.

Camp Walnut is a Monday-Thursday camp.

Camp Walnut concludes for all students on July 30, 2026, with public performances for the Performance Division scheduled from July 30-August 2, 2026.

Performances:

  • Thursday, July 30 at 6:30PM
  • Friday, July 31 at 8:00PM
  • Saturday, August 1 at 4:00PM
  • Sunday, August 2 at 3:00PM
